I am a native of Michigan, and a resident of Georgia. I have over fifteen years of experience as an education advocate. I’m passionate about health professions simulation, leveraging the power of technology to improve instruction, rigorous research methods, and increasing access to education for at-risk populations. I believe that education has the power to radically transform both individuals and communities. I believe that collaboration always yields better results. I believe in agile processes and iterative design.
When I’m not designing simulations or conducting educational research, I enjoy both informal and formal learning, powerlifting, knitting, and reading in my pajamas. I’ve been a vegetarian for more years than I ever ate meat. I love Ethiopian food and musical theater.
My Twitter is about 70/30 personal/professional, but my LinkedIn is all business. You can find all of my research on ResearchGate. My favorite conversation topic is the practical application of learning theory. Let me know if you’re up for a discussion.
