Instructional Design

Four Virtual Patients

I have led many projects from conception to completion, and conducted numerous program evaluations. As the senior educator at Shadow Health, my days were filled with collaboration, both internally with game and graphic designers, software developers, product managers, scriptwriters, and executive leadership, and externally with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), faculty, and students across the health professions. I conducted needs analyses, constructed conceptual frameworks, wrote instructional content, designed and produced support materials, documented standard operating processes, mapped simulation outcomes to curricular competencies, identified user personas, and developed recommended use cases. My success as an instructional designer depended largely on my ability to communicate complex messages to diverse audiences, data-driven decision-making, project management with a high level of attention to detail, and my passion for health professions education.
